Hello world!

I am Phil Moore, currently working for Cornerstone Evangelical Church as an Apprentice with focus on Youth and Music ministry. By way of introduction I thought it would be cool to include a shortened version of my testimony:

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian household, where from a young age I attended church with my parents and my older brother. In addition to this I attended Sunday school and a number of Christian camps and activities where from a young age I was taught to pray and read the bible daily. I can always remember having faith in God, as my supreme protector and provider and I found confidence in this from an early age. However, I knew that I could not be a Christian based on the faith of my parents. I was greatly encouraged by a number of events but the most significant was when I was 11, at a large Christian festival in Belfast which I went along to with the youth fellowship from church. It was here that I heard a clear presentation of the gospel and responded to it. I realised the significance and magnitude of Christ’s sufferings for me on the cross, and the hope and forgiveness that was available through His death and resurrection. I had an overwhelming sense of freedom from the past, freedom from the wrongs that I had done and that no longer would I be slaved to sin but alive in Jesus Christ. My life before this event was directionless and unfulfilled and after, full of hope and the knowledge of the depths of God’s love. Since I made that commitment the road has not been easy, I found it difficult to publicly live as a Christian as a teenager and it was really when I left school and started at the University of Nottingham, where I began to really live a bold Christian life. I have been greatly encouraged by my family and friends, and enjoy accountable relationships with friends at church. One song that has greatly encouraged me is the hymn Jesus paid it all, the chorus is, ‘Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe, For sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow’. The transforming power of God, through Christ is the greatest gift I could ever desire.
